The 7th China International Nuclear Power Industry Equipment Exhibition in 2013 successfully concluded in Beijing recently. Nearly 500 companies and scientific research institutes from more than 20 countries and regions participated in this exhibition. At the China Nuclear Power Sustainable Development Summit Forum held concurrently with the exhibition, the reporter learned that my country's nuclear power construction is accelerating and will reach a peak in 2020. As a representative product of my country's third-generation nuclear power technology, the localization rate of ACPR1000 and CAP1400 will be greatly increased, reaching 85% and 55% respectively.
Ye Qizhen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said at the forum, “From the perspective of environment and resources, the development of nuclear power is an inevitable choice.” Yang Qi, vice chairman of the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, also said that China will achieve 15% of non-fossil energy by 2020. The goal of 40% carbon dioxide reduction is inseparable from nuclear power.
Jian Jingwen, deputy director of the equipment department of the National Nuclear Power Technology Corporation, said that according to the nuclear power installed capacity requirements set by the National Nuclear Development Plan, the future nuclear power unit will need to reach nearly 200 units. It is estimated that 4-6 new nuclear power plants will be approved every year during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, and this will increase to 6-8 units per year during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, and 10 new nuclear power plants will be added steadily every year after 2020.
The development of three generations of technology is the mainstream of nuclear power construction in my country. As a representative product of my country's third-generation nuclear power technology, the localization rate of ACPR1000 and CAP1400 has increased significantly. Currently, there are mainly two types of PWR nuclear power plants under construction in the world: AP1000 and ERP. Among them, AP1000 and its improved models mainly have two technical routes: CAP1400 led by National Nuclear Power and ACPR1000 represented by China Nuclear Power and China General Nuclear Power.
Ye Qizhen said that the net power of the new CAP1400 unit independently developed on the basis of the introduction of AP1000 is greater than 1400MW, and it is expected to be connected to the grid in 2018. Jian Jingwen stated that the localization rate of the CAP1400 demonstration project will reach 55%. The localization rate of the CGN ACPR1000 units in Yangjiang is up to 85%. It is expected to complete the research and development at the end of the year and start construction at the beginning of next year.
