Yu Zhengsheng presides over the biweekly consultation forum of the CPPCC National Committee

People's Daily, Beijing, January 9th (Reporter Zhu Sixiong) The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a biweekly consultation forum in Beijing on the afternoon of the 9th to make suggestions on "nuclear power and clean energy development. Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
At the forum, members of the CPPCC National Committee, experts and scholars, such as Zhang Guobao, he Yu, he Zuoxiu, Wan Gang, Wang Yuqing, Liu Bingjiang, Li Hejun, Hao Yuan, Wang Binghua, Wang Ji, Liu Hanyuan, Li Ziying, and Wang Mingtan, put forward opinions and suggestions on the development of nuclear power and clean energy and ensuring safety.
The committee members believe that the development of nuclear power and clean energy and the adjustment of the energy structure are major issues in maintaining sustained economic development and ecological environmental protection. On the basis of ensuring safety, we should steadily and orderly promote nuclear power construction, optimize the layout of nuclear power projects, straighten out the regulatory system, strengthen nuclear safety supervision, and put an end to nuclear leakage accidents; at the same time, we should speed up the development of hydropower, actively develop wind power, and vigorously develop photovoltaic power generation. Yu Zhengsheng listened carefully to the speech and discussed with everyone. The symposium was full of speeches, frank exchanges and a warm atmosphere.
In recent years, members have paid great attention to the development of nuclear power and clean energy. In 2013, the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association conducted research and made suggestions on the development of clean energy. At the symposium, Ma Peihua, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice chairman of the Democratic National Construction Association, made a speech on this.
Wu Xinxiong, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Energy Administration, introduced the development of nuclear power and clean energy in my country. Relevant responsible comrades of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (National Nuclear Safety Administration), the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Chinese Academy of Engineering interacted with the committee members. Relevant responsible comrades of the China Earthquake Administration attended the meeting.
Du Qinglin, Zhang Qingli, Su Rong, Chen Yuan and Wang Qinmin, vice chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the forum.
