In the long river of corporate development, the inheritance of experience is like a lighthouse, illuminating the path for future generations. On December 2, 2024, a significant thematic sharing session and the third "Red•Inheritance" Think Tank meeting of the Nantong Youth Private Entrepreneurs Association was successfully held at Jiangsu Shentong Valve Co., Ltd. This event aims to promote young entrepreneurs to inherit the entrepreneurial wisdom of their predecessors and to carry forward the red spirit, injecting new vitality into the economic development of Nantong City. Wu Jianxin, the company's party secretary and president, was the guest speaker for this session, sharing the hardships and challenges he faced during the early stages of his entrepreneurship, reviewing the company's development journey from nothing to something, from small to large, and how to stand out in fierce market competition to establish an industry-leading position. More than 30 members participated in this event, including Yu Jiali, the party branch secretary of the association, executive presidents Wu Yucheng and Shen Qibo, executive vice president Cai Chang, vice presidents Liu Qun, Ding Yan, Ying Lingtong, Zhou Xiangxiang, Wu Hongze, and deputy secretary Chen Yun, and Kan Neng.
Those with goals are running, while those without goals are wandering.
During the sharing session, President Wu pointed out that having clear goals is the key to driving individuals and enterprises forward. He meticulously formulates and strictly implements daily work plans, weekly progress summaries, monthly performance targets, and annual and medium- to long-term strategic plans. Achieving each small goal is a motivation for self-improvement and a solid step towards the ultimate goal. It is precisely these seemingly trivial daily accumulations that converge into a powerful driving force for the continuous advancement of both the enterprise and the individual. Since entering Shentong in 1981, over 40 years of professional career and entrepreneurial journey, President Wu has continuously realized and exceeded the goals he set, not only driving the rapid development of the enterprise but also achieving a leap in personal value.
Clear positioning is essential for focus and strength; careful selection is more important than effort.
On the journey of growth at Shentong Valve, President Wu has always adhered to the core concept of clear market positioning. He understands that in fierce market competition, only precise positioning can focus strength and achieve optimal resource allocation and efficient utilization. He leads the team to maintain a clear mind, not to be tempted by immediate benefits, and to steadfastly focus on the research and production of valve products, aiming to become a leader in the field rather than blindly pursuing diversification and becoming a so-called "department store." Over the years, President Wu has continuously led the enterprise to transform and upgrade from a manufacturing enterprise to a "manufacturing + service" enterprise, firmly believing that only by adhering to the correct positioning can the enterprise take root and grow steadily and far.
There are always more solutions than difficulties; difficulties are also opportunities.
On the road of technological innovation and reform, President Wu has always adhered to the theory that "success lies in persistence until the last moment." No matter how great the difficulties and challenges encountered, he maintains firm belief and relentless effort. Every difficulty is actually an opportunity hidden with infinite possibilities.
This belief was vividly and profoundly illustrated during the deep cooperation with Baosteel and the arduous journey of domesticating nuclear power valves. Faced with Baosteel's high standards and strict requirements for quality and technology, the enterprise encountered unprecedented challenges. However, it was these challenges that stimulated the potential of the Shentong Valve team, prompting them to continuously explore and innovate. Through in-depth communication and precise docking, they gradually met Baosteel's needs and established a solid cooperative relationship. The road to domesticating nuclear power valves is also filled with hardships and challenges. Faced with technical blockades and market barriers, Shentong Valve has never backed down but has instead held firm beliefs and faced difficulties head-on. By strengthening cooperation between production, education, and research, and closely collaborating with universities and research institutions, they jointly overcome technical difficulties, promote technological innovation, and achieve sustainable development.
Talent is the most valuable asset of an enterprise; retaining people through career, emotions, and treatment.
Shentong is a school that aims to produce good talents. President Wu firmly believes that "talent creates results, and results achieve talent." Since its restructuring, Shentong Valve has grown from over 400 employees to more than 1,500, always viewing talent as the core competitiveness of enterprise development.

In the development process of the enterprise, "unwaveringly listen to the Party's words, steadfastly follow the Party" is the key guiding principle and solid foundation for the success of Shentong Company. Under the warm breeze of the Party's policies, Shentong has found its positioning in the economic tide, actively engaging in industries encouraged by the state. Whether it is enterprise restructuring, achieving listing, or technological innovation and green development, it is all a natural response to listening to the Party and following its lead.
President Wu emphasized that young entrepreneurs, as the future of enterprises, should deeply study and comprehend the Party's guidelines and policies, especially the "20th National Congress Report," to better clarify the direction of national development and ensure that the enterprise's production and operation do not deviate significantly.
The young entrepreneurs listened attentively to President Wu's sharing. They showed great interest in how the older generation of entrepreneurs balances short-term interests with long-term goals, how to digitize strategic goals, how to balance work and life, and how to build differentiated competitive advantages among peers, actively asking questions and engaging in discussions.
At the end of the event, President Wu encouraged the young entrepreneurs, stating that entrepreneurship is difficult, but those with ambition will succeed. He hopes that everyone will not just be a businessman but aspire to be a true entrepreneur, achieving a remarkable career worthy of the times, allowing the entrepreneurial spirit of Zhang Qian to shine brightly through the test of time and be passed on endlessly.
This sharing session not only built a bridge for communication between two generations of entrepreneurs but also provided a platform for the inheritance and innovation of enterprise development experiences. Based on the wisdom of their predecessors, young entrepreneurs will embrace future challenges with a more mature posture, writing a magnificent and meaningful chapter in the development of the private economy in the Nantong region.
At the event, Mr. Wu presented the two masterpieces "Winning" by Jack Welch and "The Path to Success" by Carnegie to the young entrepreneurs.
