From a small workshop for the production of farm tools, it has become a pioneer in the field of China's metallurgical energy-saving and environmental protection equipment, a pioneer in the localization of China's nuclear power equipment industry, and the first private enterprise in the-share market of China's valve manufacturers since the 21st century ...... Why is this company that originated on the banks of the Yangtze River so "magic"?
In the view of Yu Zhengtao, vice president of Jiangsu Shentong and general manager of Metallurgical Division, the first thing is to benefit from the grasp of opportunities.
In the 1980 s, the small factory, which was also called Qidong valve factory at that time, aimed at making mechanical "spare parts" that big factories did not want to do, even if one or two pieces were also made to survive in the "gap". When Shanghai Baosteel was localized, the company took a fancy to this big tree and put forward the slogan of "The whole plant guarantees Baosteel, Baosteel takes the whole plant", and became a member of Baosteel's spare parts joint research and development center. At that time, Baosteel's sixteen-character policy of "quality first, reasonable price, timely delivery, and considerate service" has now become the policy that Shentong adheres.
"To be a single champion, not a department store, to build a pioneer enterprise in the industry", the company put forward this clear slogan in the early 1990 s. Through specialized and refined products, the products are gradually moving towards the whole country. At the end of the 1990 s, it was the period of vigorous development of the metallurgical industry, and enterprises once again seized the opportunity. At that time, the country did not have a large blast furnace dry dust removal valve, Shentong was determined to take the lead in tackling key problems. The determination is not just talk. At the beginning, the nearly 20 DN600 glasses valves developed by the company were not successful. The chairman of the board made a decision to do all the work again, which is equivalent to spending almost a year's profit on the enterprise. The effort paid off. The magic power was not only successfully developed, but also promoted by the "Ministry of Metallurgical Industry", which made positive contributions to the technological progress of the national steel industry.
Today, Shentong's products have been exported to Japan and South Korea, which were once leading in this industry.
Around 2005, Shentong began to enter the field of nuclear power valves. After many simulated working condition tests, Shentong gradually entered the first square array of nuclear power equipment industry. In the China General Machinery Industry Association to organize all customers and valve enterprises docking activities, "Shentong quality" has been affirmed by all peers, was praised as "not the national team members of the national team".
By seizing one opportunity after another, it has brought about development. At present, Shentong specializes in the research and development, production and sales of new special valves, mainly including butterfly valves, ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, check valves, regulating valves, non-standard valves and other seven categories, 145 series and more than 2000 specifications. The products are widely used in metallurgy, nuclear power, thermal power, coal chemical industry, petroleum and natural gas gathering and transportation, and petroleum refining and other fields. The domestic share of metallurgical special valves has reached more than 70%. By the end of 2017, the company's total assets were 2.9 billion yuan and its sales revenue was 0.756 billion yuan in 2017.
As a high-tech enterprise, innovation is the standard that must be adhered. Shentong's annual scientific research investment accounts for more than 5% of sales revenue. The company has established scientific and technological innovation platforms such as Jiangsu Nuclear Power Valve Key Laboratory, and has established close strategic cooperation with more than 10 universities and scientific research institutes such as Tsinghua University. The company has jointly established an enterprise research institute with Zhongkehua Nuclear Power Technology Research Institute, leading the industry in valve fault online diagnosis technology and valve micro-torque technology. The company has 251 valid patents.
Strictly abide by the quality, is another foothold of the enterprise. "Do not accept defects, do not manufacture defects, do not pass defects", this is the quality concept put forward by Jiangsu Shentong. In recent years, the company continues to invest heavily in technological transformation, built the largest valve flow characteristics test device, the maximum detection diameter of 700mm, and has a complete set of testing equipment such as ultrasonic flaw detector, to achieve "quality traceability".
"We want to do the industry's 'model project '." Looking to the future, Zhang Qiqiang, vice president of Jiangsu Shentong, said that the company aims at "single champion, industry pioneer, respected, and century-old Shentong", focusing on the three major market segments of nuclear power, metallurgy, and energy equipment, and insisting on "people without me, People have their own excellence" product differentiation positioning, dig deep and dig deep in various professional fields of special valves. The ball valve with the highest pressure, the butterfly valve with the largest diameter, and the ball valve with the lowest temperature tolerance, these "most" one by one, are the proof of the power of the magic power. And more magic, is waiting for the magic to continue to write.
