According to Xinhua News Agency, a reporter learned from the Ministry of Land and Resources yesterday that the uranium exploration in the Daying area of central Inner Mongolia invested and implemented by the Central Geological Exploration Fund has made a major breakthrough and discovered the largest in-situ leachable sandstone-type uranium deposit in China. Together with the previous exploration results, the region's cumulative control of uranium resources ranks among the world's largest mines. This is of great significance for our country to improve the supply of uranium resources based on domestic and to improve the ability of nuclear power development resources to guarantee.

The major breakthrough in uranium prospecting in the Daying area of central Inner Mongolia is mainly due to the innovation of the exploration ideas of the Central Geological Exploration Fund "Coal and Uranium Exploration", that is, according to the regional mineral distribution law, the exploration technology is optimized and combined. At the same time, the coal exploration is carried out, and the radioactive logging and logging are simultaneously carried out by coal boreholes to explore the possibility of the existence of sandstone-type uranium deposits. After the discovery and delineation of a series of major uranium prospecting target areas, a decisive decision was made to carry out a uranium prospecting battle.

It is reported that the Central Geological Exploration Fund Management Center has organized 4 exploration teams, 28 drilling rigs, and more than 500 exploration technology and construction personnel affiliated to China National Nuclear Corporation, China General Administration of Coal Geology, Inner Mongolia Department of Land and Resources, and Geological Exploration Bureau. The severe cold and scorching heat, meticulous organization, scientific construction, and 300 days of hard work have achieved a rapid and major breakthrough in the exploration of Daying uranium mine in one fell swoop.

The new idea of "coal-uranium exploration" has realized the pioneering work of changing one ore into two ore. The Central Geological Exploration Fund has not only explored and evaluated a super-large coal mine with a resource of 51 billion tons, but also discovered a super-large uranium mine in this area. It not only saves a lot of uranium prospecting investment, but also shortens the uranium exploration cycle of 4 to 5 years. It is expected that significant economic and social benefits can be achieved after development and utilization.
