The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced on November 24 that it intends to make a reply decision on the environmental impact report (site selection stage) of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 and 4 project, and the environmental impact report (site selection stage) of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 and 4 project The basic information of the site selection stage is publicized, indicating that China's nuclear power restart has entered a substantive stage of advancement.
The Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 and Unit 4 project is an expansion project of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant. It applies for the construction of 2 WWER1000-type units. Jiangsu Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. is fully responsible for the construction, operation and management of the power plant. In addition, the National Energy Administration has agreed to carry out the preliminary work of the project, and the Ministry of Water Resources has also approved the water and soil conservation plan of the project.
On October 24, the executive meeting of the State Council once again discussed and passed the "Nuclear Power Safety Plan (2011-2020)" and the "Nuclear Power Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2011-2020)", and the restart of nuclear power obtained the most excellent "birth permit". Today, the tide of nuclear power construction has been set off everywhere. For example, on November 17, Unit 4 of Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Project and Unit 4 of Guangdong Yangjiang Nuclear Power Project resumed construction at the same time.
