Wang Qishan: Strengthen cooperation with Russia in the construction of nuclear power plants in third countries

Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council and Chinese Chairman of the China-Russia Energy Cooperation Committee, met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Russian Chairman De Volkevich in Beijing on the 25th.

Wang Qishan said that the two governments support enterprises in negotiations on gas supply in the eastern pipeline. The two sides confirmed that they will supply 38 billion cubic meters of gas to China through the eastern pipeline each year, and continue to study and demonstrate the cooperation between the eastern LNG project and the western gas supply. The nuclear energy cooperation between China and Russia has a good momentum and broad prospects. It is hoped that the two sides will carry out all-round cooperation and simultaneously promote a package of cooperation in nuclear power plants, space reactors, floating reactors, fast reactors, and the construction of nuclear power plants in third countries. Support enterprises of the two countries to continue to promote long-term cooperation in the fields of electricity, coal, energy and renewable energy, and aluminum on the basis of mutual benefit and win-win results.
