The State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation recently announced that the world's first AP1000 third-generation nuclear power unit will officially generate electricity in Sanmen, Zhejiang, China in October 2014. At present, the supply chain system of three generations of nuclear power equipment has been formed, and is moving forward from equipment localization to equipment autonomy. New important progress has been made in the design and research of major national special CAP1400, and positive progress has been made in the autonomy of third-generation nuclear power in China.

On January 29, the world's first AP1000 Sanmen Nuclear Power Unit 1 steel containment top head was hoisted in place, marking the overall progress of the world's first AP1000 units. Responsible for the introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation of three generations of nuclear power technology, the State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation, and the equipment manufacturing industry to carry out joint research, the introduction of international advanced standards and the construction of nuclear safety culture. At present, the main pipeline, pressure vessel, steam generator, pressurizer and other key equipment has been achieved localization, steel containment technology has been fully mastered, the main pump, burst valve localization has made important progress, basically meet the needs of engineering construction. At the same time, combined with major special research and development, promote the third generation of nuclear power key equipment from localization (foreign design, made in China) to independent (Chinese design, made in China) upgrade. And cooperated with Westinghouse to build a third-generation global supply chain for nuclear power equipment, which not only laid the foundation for driving the equipment manufacturing industry to "go global", but also promoted the transformation and upgrading of my country's equipment manufacturing industry.

In the process of the introduction and construction of AP1000 third-generation nuclear power, China has gradually formed five platforms, such as third-generation nuclear power test verification, software development, equipment and material identification, fuel element material research and development, and technical and economic research. Improve the weak links in my country's nuclear power basic research and development, change the situation that my country's nuclear power software is highly dependent on imports, fill the gap in my country's nuclear power equipment material identification capabilities, provide support for the autonomy of advanced nuclear fuel manufacturing technology, and provide support for relevant industrial policy formulation and company business decisions Provide reference.
