A reporter from the China Securities News learned from authoritative channels that the National Development and Reform Commission has recently drawn up arrangements for the start of the first batch of four coastal nuclear power projects totaling more than 10 million kilowatts, of which Shandong Rongcheng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Station is expected to become the first new project approved to start.
In fact, since the beginning of this year, news about the approval of new nuclear power projects has continued to spread. At the new National Energy Commission meeting held in June, coastal nuclear power projects were even more highlighted.
Industry analysis pointed out that based on the current comprehensive investment level of nuclear power, the investment scale of the 10 million kilowatt project can reach 160 billion yuan, which will bring at least 80 billion yuan of orders to upstream nuclear power equipment manufacturers. According to relevant plans, by 2020, the scale of new domestic nuclear power projects will reach 36 million kilowatts, which is expected to leverage the market size of nuclear power equipment to reach 300 billion billion yuan.
The development of nuclear power has gradually become a consensus
For a long time, my country's energy consumption structure with coal as the main body has been criticized. Vigorously developing clean and renewable energy and adjusting the energy consumption structure have become a national strategy. Especially in the haze control battle with the main task of reducing coal burning in the past two years, it is urgent to speed up the pace of clean energy substitution.
At present, China has become a large-scale clean energy power generation, mainly hydropower, nuclear power, wind power and solar photovoltaic power generation. An expert from the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association told a reporter from the China Securities Journal that after recent years of development, although the scale of wind power and photovoltaic power generation has increased day by day, the problems of "abandoning wind" and "abandoning light" are still restricted by bottlenecks such as difficulties in grid connection. difficult to solve. At present, wind power, photovoltaic and other new energy power generation accounts for less than 5% of China's total primary energy consumption, and there is still a big gap between the actual effect of replacing traditional fossil energy and the potential demand. How to find a more reliable clean energy to replace the space made by coal consumption has become a problem that the industry continues to think about.
The above-mentioned experts said that judging from the actual status of domestic energy consumption, "vigorously develop nuclear power on the basis of ensuring safety" has gradually become a consensus. He explained that the outstanding advantages of nuclear power over other alternative energy sources are: the use of nuclear energy resources is more stable and sustainable, there is no intermittency of wind power photovoltaic, and the seasonal and ecological impact of hydropower. The economy of nuclear power is superior to other renewable energy sources due to scale factors. In order to successfully achieve the goal of "non-fossil energy accounting for 15% of primary energy consumption by 2020", nuclear power can account for half of it, this is not wind power and photovoltaic power generation.
Since the Fukushima nuclear accident caused by the earthquake in Japan in 2011, the biggest question about the development of nuclear power in China is its safety. After the state issued the medium and long-term nuclear power plan and nuclear safety plan in 2012 and announced the restart of nuclear power development, the outside world still has doubts about how to ensure the safety of nuclear power plants. In this regard, the above-mentioned experts said that from the current point of view, the third-generation nuclear power technology has completely replaced the second-generation technology, and the AP1000 and above technologies in the third-generation technology will gradually become the mainstream of nuclear power technology in the future by virtue of its safety and efficiency.
The mid-and long-term nuclear power plan promulgated in 2012 also clearly stated that the third-generation AP1000 technology will be the development direction of China's nuclear power industry. The newly announced "Nuclear Power Safety Plan" proposes that only nuclear power plants using third-generation technology can start construction after 2016. Before that, only a few second-generation improved nuclear power plants can start construction. "Since the nuclear accident in Japan in 2011, the domestic emphasis on nuclear power safety has run through the entire process of site selection, construction and later operation. The efficient development of nuclear power on the basis of safety has become an industry consensus." The expert said.
