Unit 1 of Northeast China's first nuclear power plant is connected to the grid for power generation
Release time:
2013-02-18
Unit 1 of Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station was connected to the grid at 15:09 on the 17th. Yang Xiaofeng, general manager of Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., said that the successful connection of Unit 1 to the grid for the first time marks that the unit has officially entered the grid-connected commissioning stage and has power generation capacity.
Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station is the first nuclear power project approved to start construction during China's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period. It is also the first nuclear power plant and the largest energy construction project in Northeast China. It started construction in August 2007. The first phase of the project invested 50 billion yuan to build 4 million kilowatt nuclear power units; in May 2010, the second phase of the project was launched, and another 2 million kilowatt nuclear power units were added, with an investment of 25 billion yuan. Thus, it has become the nuclear power project with the largest number of units under construction in the world. After the completion of the nuclear power plant in 2016, the annual power generation will be 45 billion kwh.
The relevant department of the Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant stated that the goal of completing all four units of the first phase of the project by 2015 will be achieved as scheduled. The annual power generation of these four units is 30 billion kWh, which is higher than the 28.7 billion kWh level of Dalian in 2012, and accounts for about 16% of the total social electricity consumption in Liaoning Province in 2012.
After the Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station is connected to the grid, it will optimize the power supply structure in Liaoning, achieve energy conservation and emission reduction, and improve air and water quality. According to reports, compared with thermal power projects of the same scale, after all four units of the first phase of the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Station in Liaoning are put into operation, the annual consumption of standard coal will be reduced by about 10 million tons, reducing carbon dioxide by 24 million tons, sulfur dioxide by 230000 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 150000 tons., Equivalent to 66000 hectares of afforestation.
According to reports, the Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is the nuclear power plant with the most independent innovation and the highest localization rate in China. The second phase of the project equipment, including the proportion of localization of key equipment, are more than 80%. For example, its seawater desalination system has opened up a precedent for nuclear power plants in mainland China to use seawater desalination technology to provide fresh water resources.
